Las Vegas

I got the opportunity to go along with Brent on Business trip to Las Vegas. This was the first time I had ever been! We had a great time. It is so nice to have time to focus on each other and to just be able to have fun with each other instead of making sure every detail of life at home is taken care of. I have to say my favorite part of the trip was. no laundry, no cooking and no picking up after everyone!

Spring Break..so far...

Well, Here we are, already spring break time for the kiddos. I have had them all to myself for a whole week! If you know me at all that means we must stay as busy as possible so I don't go into breakdown mode :) We started the week off on Monday by driving up to Snowflake, VA. Yes, it is exactly what you are thinking! A friend from church told me about the Creation Kingdom Zoo. Yes, it is in the middle of nowhere but totally worth the drive! Our friends Insley and Addison joined us. We saw a baby Kangaroo, Turtles, a baby tiger, an ostrich..monkeys..I could go on and on. It was so cool. The kids could touch EVERYTHING! They fed, touched and chased a rooster. It really was amazing! The staff was so informative and great with the kids. We ended the day with picnic.

Yesterday we made a trip to the store and then played outside all day with our neighbor Avery. Our neighborhood is full of little girls. Avery is just about 4 and J.Riley's best friend. They play great together and it is so convenient that they can run back and fourth through the yards. We also have started our vegetable garden! The star of the garden this year I believe will be the strawberries!

Today we planned to go to the park with some friends but Ava has come down with pink eye! GROSS!! So we stayed home and have been busy packing! The kids will be spending the long weekend with Nana and Grampy while Mommy and Daddy go to VEGAS!!!

Things to remember

J.Riley: "Dad what if my balls drop to the ground."

I had to leave the room for the answer to this one :)

Today we were at a stop light on the way to school in front of a store that always has prom looking dresses in the big front window.

J.Riley- "Hey Mom, do you want to buy one of those dresses if they go on sale?"

Me- "sure, but only if they go on sale."

J.Riley- " Do you want to buy the yellow one, pink one or the rabbit one?" (referring to the leopard print dress)

Me.- "The yellow one is pretty."

J.Riley- "How will we get it if it is behind the glass?"

Celebrating Easter

I love Easter and all that it brings. I love the Spring weather, the beautiful trees and flowers blooming, cute shoes, great spring clothes, and so many other signs of the Easter season. However, most importantly, I love celebrating Christ's death and resurrection and being reminded once again of His love for us! How he suffered and endured such agony on the cross, died and was buried and with that so were our sins, and how he rose from the grave the 3 days later so we can know that HE IS ALIVE!

A few pictures to show how we celebrate our King!
